2013-08-11 – Hong Kong Island View Laser Show
Hong Kong Island View Laser Show
It’s very common that most people head to Kowloon side to watch the nightly laser show. Over the years Kowloon has seen rapid development as airport restrictions are no longer in place. The new Central promenade has also meant that there is far more space to relax and enjoy the show far removed from the crowds on Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. Plus with Avenue of Stars closed for construction till 2017 it gives more options.
Hong Kong nightly laser show takes place along the Victoria Harbour skyline also known as “A Symphony of Lights”. The show starts at 8:00pm rain or shine, except when T8 or T10 typhoon signals are raised, for 14 minutes. There are over 40 buildings in the coordinated light display with buildings along the Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Waterfront as well as Kowloon East. They are continuously adding new buildings to the display as Hong Kong skyline is always being built up.
There is so many different vantage points to watch the show from. If you have the chance try to catch it from different vantage points as it’s really a unique way to see the Hong Kong skyline. To get an idea of locations I have a page with images from all over featuring Hong Kong nightly laser show performances.
