Hong Kong Fragrant Harbour

Hong Kong Fragrant Harbour, Victoria Harbour has always been a safe harbour.  Surrounded by mountains on Hong Kong Island protecting it from South China Sea as well as Kowloon on it’s north.  This section focuses on the city in motion riding the world famous Victoria Harbour to many of the out islands.  The historic Star Ferry crossing between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon is highly rated on all bucket lists.  There are still a few junks and sampans offering bit of old world beauty.

Hong Kong Fragrant Harbour by This Is Hong Kong

Hong Kong Fragrant Harbour, Victoria Harbour has always been a safe harbour and today that’s still very much the case but more for financial and legal issues than shipping.  The junks in the harbour run tourists around.  The fishing boats from the years gone by are also a fading history.  Sampans are being replaced by sailboats and large motor yachts.  Icons like Star Ferry still zip across the harbour between Wan Chai, Central and Kowloon.  As the harbour is reclaimed for development Victoria Harbour needs to be preserved in all it’s beauty.
