3 to 2 Aspect Ratio Photographs

The 3 to 2 aspect ratio has a long history in photography with 35mm photography and film.  1.50:1 (3:2, 15:10):   Along with 4:3 they are the two most common print sizes. Also the native aspect ratio of VistaVision, for which the film runs horizontally and seen on movie theater screens since the mid 50’s up till the replacement of 16:9 that is now in place.

Today pictures are not restricted by conventional print and paper sizes unfortunately for the convenience of galleries and on-line marketing tools this is still the norm but not here.  I’m a believer that we should not be limited in our thinking and old ways, however we should use standard formats when they work especially for single imagse or stacked images.  That’s why at LapseOfTimeHK all images are limited in print quantity of one per print size and everyone will have a uniqueness.  That means after it sells it will go back into processing or the archives.  This is not an back catalog that will keep generating revenue for a gallery but will give the buyer something that is more special and one of kind.

Printing Info for 2:3 aspect ratio.  Common sizes 4″x6″, 8”x12”, 16”x20”, 20”x24”, 24”x30” etc  (custom sizes as well as larger sizes are available in many different types of print formats – use the form below to contact me)  NOTE – Print sizes will vary slightly as cropping might not always create an exact dimension as stated above.  In order to keep pricing and organizing as simple as possible they have been put into closest aspect ratio.  If you need exact dimensions they are available.
